Kids Karate Programs

The AMA Dojo offers an introductory FREE karate program for kids ages 6-12.  There are no time limits or contracts.  Your child learns basic techniques, including stances, strikes, blocks, & kicks, as well as developing listening skills, discipline, and teamwork.  Students wear comfortable clothing so there is no need to purchase a uniform.  

Children build confidence, focus, and leadership skills, and they have fun while they are doing it! Our Kids for Free program feeds into our Kids Intermediate program.

Once your child learns their basic techniques, they have the opportunity to test into our Kids Intermediate program, where they earn their first uniform and their white belt.  This program teaches your child additional strikes and blocks, as well as katas, or forms.  Here they also have the opportunity to continue learning about teamwork and sportsmanship.   Our Kids Intermediate program feeds into our GoShinKan Kids program.

After finishing their katas, your child can test into our GoShinKan Kids program.  Here your child learns more advanced katas and animal stages, which set the foundation for self-defense.  In this class they work to earn their yellow, orange, purple, blue, green & brown belts.  They also spar with other students (we provide the protective equipment) to learn about control and respect.  We know that children embrace the simple values of self-control, self-respect, and confidence in our classes, to gain a greater insight to a brighter and happier future. 

*Most will switch to the adult class (around age 13) before testing for their black belt.
